Not All Who Wander: America's Loss of Faith

Men Are Rugged. Women Have Nice Legs. Very Like Life, No? No? From the Mailbag:

You haven't commented on Lost yet.  What is your interpretation?

Life's surreal.

Then you die.

Which is cool, because this sends the ratings up spectacularly, somebody (though not necessarily you) makes a huge profit by selling detergent and toilet paper, other people are entertained, and everybody wins.

Except you.

You die.

But a well-made show, there's no doubt.  We need religion of this sort.

America will now spiral into isolation and the dollar will plummet against the yen and rupee as we search for meaning after Lost.

Huh?! I thought it was a hobby of yours to make fun of those of us addicted to this show! I didn't know you ever watched it. ;-)

As I've said elsewhere: this show is about individuals being redeemed by the power of the community and its love. If I didn't know any better, it sounds right up your alley. <laughing>

I'm making fun of those of you addicted to this show.

But nicely.

I'm sure it was a good ride. I just don't do that much television drama.

Not reading this post or any of the comments in case there's a spoiler (I'm on Season 4), but kudos on the reference in the title.
Btw: there's a shirt I saw in an airport once that I really want but haven't seen since that has a pair of hiking boots on it and the words "Not all those who wander are lost".
