Book of Otter: Sources of Sin

Most of your sin and your silence comes from fear and self-hatred.

That's alright.

You should know though that you make it worse when you lie in the dark begging God to change you.

Ask once every day.

That's enough.  A little faith is better than all your agony.

The more you dwell on it, the more power it has: its power is in your fear and your guilt.

Now think for awhile about something you would like to learn, or do, or make.

Lie down in the dark and believe that in the morning, that is what you will learn, or do, or make.  Then sleep.  Wake up, remember, and choose to be new.

I want to read the *whole* Book of Otter. :o)

Seriously, thanks for this. It spoke to me where I am today.

And today just happens to be Let It Go Day.
Good timing.

I have been really working this spring on noticing and releasing all the places that I have been still cowering in the dark of my fears and anxieties--by now in middle age I am so accustomed to my fears that I forget that I am still living in the Cave--so this little post spoke to me as well. The simple act of turning around in the Cave and looking out at the sunshine rather than focusing on the shadows dancing on the wall is remarkably freeing and healing. Now for the big breath in and the step toward the entrance.
