Otter A thought on the killing of Osama bin Laden, and the responses to it:
There's no moral equivalency between shooting Osama bin Laden and the mass murder of non-combatants on September 11.
However, the Internet was abuzz with glee about the thing.
Self-indulgent emotions of vengeance are to justice what pornography is to sex.

It seems many pastors had some difficulty sorting this one out.
It's a pity that so many Christians miss the point of being "like Jesus in his sufferings." But I do feel sad for men and women whose livelihood depends on making the impossibly difficult message of Jesus easy for 21st century Americans.

you given an excellent and vivid answer to one of the many questions that this blood lust of the last two days has inspired. I am reposting to my FB page.
Thank you, Sandra.... it's always an honor to find myself mentioned in your pages. Your blog is a fine and wonderfully clear-headed one.
From someone who complains about the illogical inarticulations of other writers (or people who write, not at all the same thing), that is high praise. And I take it gratefully for I often feel as though I am not able to put my thoughts into words very well.
